Remus held the book at a safe distance away before he realised that Sirius was just teasing him. "Git," he said, without mirth. He did not actually mind Sirius seeing the book. He just did not want Sirius to think he was silly, reading romance novels.
Remus raised his head to look at Sirius. His company was top in Sirius' book? Really? HE hadn't known that. But that was strange. Remus was certain the puzzled look would have shown on his face. If it were James, he could understand. Sirius and James were best mates, after all. Still, Remus liked Sirius' company. It made his life a little less dull, even if sometimes the disturbance was hardly worth the loss of his peace and quiet.
"That's not what I meant," Remus said hastily. "Of course I enjoy your company. I just thought you might prefer someone else's."
