Sirius hadn't been trying to avoid James. No, he had been... ah... trying to find Remus. Yes, that was it. Sirius had to smirk a little to himself with the way he had changed that around.
Honestly, though, he couldn't deal with James right now. They were best mates, sure, but James wasn't the sort you wanted to be around when you were in any sort of mood. And Sirius was still convinced there was some firewhiskey in his system somehow.
Already Sirius had hit up the library in his search, staying there just long enough to flirt with a Ravenclaw girl until she told him quite firmly that she'd hex his eyebrows off if he didn't leave her be. Always one to take a hint (when it suited him to), Sirius had wandered off again.
The courtyard was next on his list, and Sirius grinned faintly when he saw his mate engrossed in some sort of book.
"Typical Remus," he noted, starting across the courtyard toward the other boy before flopping down onto the bench beside him. "Studying already, are you?"
