It sometimes felt odd to her, not having him nearby - in those rare moments when she could pretend things hadn't all gone to hell last spring. Her eyes darted over toward him - as they had been, occasionally, for the duration of class.
She wondered - she couldn't help but wonder - if he'd been the anonymous party. She hoped not, and she didn't think it was likely, but still she had to wonder.
If not him, one of his friends.
As the class finished up their potions, some of them started to drift out - one thing she liked about this class was that you could just ... leave when you were done. With the ranks thinning though, it became all too obvious to her that she was stalling. When her partner left with a 'see you later, Lily', the redhead nodded and gazed down at her potion.
It wasn't precisely as it should be - she thought it was a bit duller than the book described - and she blamed her lack of focus on ... well, herself, but other factors that affected her focus.
Siphoning some into a clear vial, she held it up to the light to regard it.
