"Hm?" he blinked, tearing his eyes away from the window to look at Mary again, and frowned as he processed her question before he smiled slightly. He didn't understand that it was meant to be a joke.
"I'd imagine it wouldn't take long," he reasoned, tapping his wand against his chin. "A cleaning spell here or there. If they worked together, one taking each side of the hall, it wouldn't take long at all..."
He grinned. "Maybe they rope a few of the straggling students into helping," he said. "Have you ever had to clean the windows?"
It may have sounded like a joke, but he was very serious.
