He nodded, practically beaming. "Xenophilius," he said. "Erm. Xeno, for short. Xenophilius is..." he trailed off before he could start to babble, nodding his head as to her explanation of where she was going.
He appreciated the offer she made, of letting him move into her compartment. With the jerking of the train, he suddenly realized that he didn't have anywhere to sit and was mildly amused at himself.
When she left, he stowed away his trunk with some slight difficulty, but he managed. As an afterthought, he stowed away his book as well - within arms reach, but no so close that he would get distracted. It was rude to take over a compartment, and not make oneself available to talk.
When she returned, his eyes were drawn to the compartment window, and he was staring at it in fascination, tapping idly on it with his wand. He glanced up when she entered, and quickly stowed the wand.
"Thanks, er, for the offer of companionship," he said with a smile. "I guess I was very absorbed in the reading. I did miss it over the holidays."
