His expression eased at that. Well, at least that was one thing they could both agree on. Just now he didn't want to see any Mudbloods on their part of the train, really he preferred not to ever see any again at all.
"We'll warn them off together," he said evenly, his attention finally on her for the first time. He knew her, of course. Everyone in their house knew each other, somewhat better than the other houses even, because they were so often isolated within their own by choice or circumstance.
"And if that doesn't work I have more effective ways of shooing them off." His fingers brushed the wand beside him. All summer he had been aching to use it, to hex the shite out of his father or... sometimes... in darker moments, to go to Lily's. He wasn't certain what he would do there, but it was probably best he didn't have use of his wand. Imperious, obliviation, many things had occurred to him that summer, to make her forget, to make her care for him again.
