Severus and...
Severus was at the platform early. He almost always was there early, not wanting to spend a single solitary moment longer than necessary at Spinner's End.
He'd secured a compartment and managed to scare off almost anyone who tried to join him with a well placed glare and the wand resting neatly at his side. Most people by now knew that to come upon him when he was in a bad mood could be very dangerous indeed. Not that he was in a bad mood, exactly. But this year at school was the first he'd ever not ridden on the train with Lily for either company or simply knowing she was there, somewhere, his friend.
She'd been on the platform and he'd watched her talk with some others before settling in his seat, even more disgruntled. For something to do he pulled out his potions notebook and began to read through it, scribbling some notes in it as he was wont to do. It was always more comforting to him than his journal, and less people were likely to read it. If he had something to do with it, no one ever would.
