Sirius
Sirius had said his goodbyes to the Potters quickly and gone on ahead while James was finishing up his farewells. He'd called back over his shoulder a promise to save a compartment, then made straight for the train.
It felt sort of odd not having his trunk quite as full as usual, but Sirius was glad for it when it was easier to get it loaded. Maybe once things had settled, he'd owl for the rest of his stuff to be sent.
Unless a Howler arrived with his breakfast.
Sirius cringed a little at the thought as he found a compartment and flopped onto the seat. A hopeful first year peered in, but a dark look from Sirius sen him scampering off.
Trying not to think about his family too much, Sirius laced his hands behind his head and prepared himself to wait. James would show up soon, he was sure. It was only a question of whether Remus or Peter beat him here.
