It was like reality washing in all at once. Not in a bad way, but definitely in a... He was going to have to explain quite a bit in a very short amount of time way. Giving Kara one last squeeze, for fear that anger might be in his future once he started broaching the wherefores and howtos of why he was hosting Skye and her random Inhuman boyfriend on his sofa, Ward pulled back reluctantly and moved to the side for Kara to step into the apartment rather than both of them continuing to linger in the doorway.
"In the most minimal and unobtrusive way possible," Ward said, sparing a glance between the three other people gathered in his apartment and clearing his throat and ducking his gaze. "I should... find a place for this," He said, knowing that it was cowardly and slightly pathetic for him to want to put some distance between the situation in front of him when he was the one that had created it, but there were some things that were too difficult for even him to try and stomach directly. And having to explain this situation immediately was one of them.
The glance back up, though, at Kara cause him to pause. She had already been through so much because of his cowardice, because of his need to separate himself from a situation, and he didn't need to go running off and creating another one so soon.
"Or I could... wait on that, and maybe..." Ward pursed his lips before offering Kara a sheepish half smile. "There's a really simple explanation for this."
