Kara didn't even notice that there were other people in the apartment. She'd missed Grant so much and, while she had been angry with him at first, she had been waiting for this almost since he left. Being back with him made her feel at peace. She'd been so lonely at SHIELD, even with Mack and Lance, and she hadn't trusted anyone else. She didn't know if she would ever be able to forgive Morse for what she'd done to her, and she would never be comfortable around Coulson and May after they had belittled her and used her and been so disgustingly petty. Being with Grant again, she was content. She was home. It was a feeling she had missed.
"It's okay, Grant," she said softly. "It's okay. I know why you did it, and you don't have to be sorry. We're together again and that's all that matters." Kissing him was wonderfully familiar and easy, as if no time had passed. This was what she had needed. After a moment, she grinned at him and ducked down to get something from her bag. "I brought you something."
She stood again, holding out a small cactus for him to see. "I thought a new home could use a new plant," she teased, remembering their old home. "God only knows how you've been getting along without me. How did you not starve to death? I hope I don't have to remind you that Ramen noodles are not food."
