No, it wasn't helping. Juno knew as soon as her outburst was over she knew damn well she had fucked up, but on the other hand she stood by it. Maybe a part of her was taking it personally, as if Chase's refusal to do what she had done in the face of the same thing was an accusation that she hadn't done enough.
"What're we gonna do tear the place apart? Shit happens here that no one can fucking explain. Overnight they can change this shit around. They take away people we love and leave the murderous fucks behind. We're all on borrowed time and we're nothing, okay?"
The look on Chase's face wasn't the first one she had seen nor the scariest one. She stared at him right back and didn't even apologize, because at this point, she was more waiting for him to snap onto her, and she needed to be ready. She wasn't sorry about telling him as painful as it sounded, no one here was special. Not in any way that really mattered.
