"No, don't be sorry," Dylan said immediately, shaking her head as she helped him move to the couch. She planted herself next to him when they made it, keeping her arm wrapped around him to comfort. "It doesn't matter how long you've known each other if the connection is real, I get it. Plus I imagine you guys went through a lot together in a short time." Her smile was equal parts wry humor, sympathy, and sheepishness. "To be honest, I might freak out a little if some of the people who showed up in my group went missing one morning, and we definitely haven't been in here nearly as long as you guys were."
"You just take all the time you need," she told him with a little squeeze and a pat on his arm. "I've got literally nothing else going on today and I'm not leaving until I know you're going to be okay."
