Dylan found herself holding her breath when Edwin swung the door open, hoping his boyfriend had also been returned - and was sad that she wasn't surprised when the room proved empty. She was there when Edwin started crying for real, wrapping an arm around him as if hugging a stranger having a breakdown was totally a normal thing that she did every day. To be fair, it sometimes was.
"Hey, it's okay," she said softly, arm squeezing around him in a hug before tugging gently to get him away from the door. They both saw it was empty; he didn't need to be standing there any longer than he already had. "So far everyone who's come back has come back okay. I can only imagine how much it sucks, but he could be back as soon as tomorrow." She indicated the couch in the lounge, still urging him to step away. "Let's go have a seat and you can take a minute or two. What can I do? Some tissues? A drink? It's still early, but if there was ever an occasion to have ice cream for breakfast, it's now."
