He headed for the porch door, stepping out and holding it open for her from the bottom of the stairs. "So how did you get into all that? The vet stuff? I mean, I know school and shit, but there's a lot of other stuff you can do that helps animals out if that's what you're into." Because why the hell not? Listening to her could be fun, or useful, or just anything other than dealing with his own brain's bullshit.
