Pam tapped the tip of her nose with a finger, then pointed to Felix. "Oh, you're right! I never asked," she said cheerfully, figuring that it didn't do anyone any good to make a list of things they wouldn't like.
She slipped upstairs with the box of cereal, unaware of Felix's inner turmoil, and returned downstairs after taking a moment to put her sneakers on. She expected to beat Felix back to the game room, but she sure didn't mind returning to a story about animals. "Snakes are so neat," she said as she made it back down. "I actually prefer snakes to lizards, but that might just be because I think they're prettier. Do you know what kind of snake? I mean, it's not important, I just, like, really miss animals." She laughed, maybe a little too much, as she moved to scoop up the bug carrier again. At least there were cats. "You ready?"
