Felix heard footsteps coming towards the porch doorway, but didn't look up absently staring into the middle distance as he chewed until he saw movement in his peripheral vision. He couldn't say he was surprised to see Pam already up and at it, and for a few seconds her energy just made him feel more tired.
"It's two less than everybody else has to get," he pointed out as he leaned forward to get his coffee, keeping his bowl aloft as Bilbo came over to investigate, not sure what cats could or couldn't have out of what he had in his vicinity. It turned out Biblo was more interested in craning his neck up to smell his pantleg, and Felix figured it was probably more to do with Shark's smell than anything on the menu.
"I'm okay," he replied a little flatly, nearly following it up with 'slept like shit' because of all the people he knew Pam would probably be nosy enough to ask what was up. Or not, if she was feeling particularly full of herself that morning. That didn't feel fair, though, even if he was still pretty sure it was true. "Waiting for the caffeine to kick in. You eat yet? I can spare a bowl if you're as fucking sick of eggs as I am." Offering a bowl wasn't going to kill him, and it wasn't like it was his stash of Froot Loops. Besides, if he offered she might feel obligated to sit down, and maybe he wasn't too opposed to a few minutes of company with someone he didn't have to be particularly "hot" or "cool" for.
