Who: Lucy and Chase Where: The old lodge When: Mid morning
Chase wasn't terribly surprised that Oliver have opted out of going with them when it became apparent that there was a new person in the house. He also wasn't as bothered as he might have been if Kiley hadn't decided she wanted to do the hardware store, figuring that this trip probably wasn't as necessary as it might have felt a few days earlier, but it was always nice to know what they had to work with, especially if they had a limited amount of newer materials when the store finally did land. He decided that he actually was pretty grateful that they'd taken a break the day before, the idea of walking all the way to the lodge immediately after a day of hoofing it as much as he had the night the monsters sounding less and less productive. Hell, he was still feeling the burn even now.
So, reconnaissance. Even with as simple a task as that seemed, he'd come a little more prepared than he might have days ago. He had his phone and his charging brick, plus his survival kit, but he also had his hammer strapped to his belt, and the Buster Shovel in-hand. His pack was present but almost entirely empty, aside from a spare flashlight, some food and his water. He didn't think they'd be carrying anything back, but it was better to be safe than sorry. They wouldn't be out after dark, they wouldn't have to worry about anything, they'd go and be back and it would all be fine.
"We should think about clearing some paths or something at some point," he sighed idly as they neared their destination. "I mean....obviously not anytime soon, the other stuff's more important, and paths would make it a little more obvious where we're going from a monster perspective, probably. But it maybe we all wouldn't get lost so much when they take the phones away again." Which They would. That felt like a given at this point.
