Dylan was likewise glad to have Ettie with her as they descended the stairs to the next floor - not the bottom, she noted as they hit the landing. So they'd been on at least the third floor, if not higher. Normally, Dylan wasn't nervous around a crowd of strangers - she usually thrived there, making conversation with new people and getting to know people. She was one of those people to whom no one was a stranger, just a friend she hadn't met yet. It had varying degrees of effectiveness, but Dylan had never found it useless entirely.
"Well, let's say hi, I guess," she said to Ettie, managing a smile before stepping out towards the people who'd gathered in the common space. It made her wonder if any of them were from the floor above, who'd made it downstairs before Dylan and Ettie had made it out of their rooms. The girl in the sparkly silver dress caught her eye first - Dylan suddenly felt less overdressed for the place. At least she hadn't been the only one kidnapped while dressed up.
"Hey everyone," she said, speaking up so the whole group could hear. "I don't suppose anyone knows what's going on?"
