"Yeah, we need better protection," Dylan agreed. "As much as I want to run out there, I'm definitely not dressed for it." Bare arms, bare midriff, knee-length skirt, open heels... she had a jacket, but it was more for protection from the minute or so walk between the club and the L and her apartment on shoveled walks than prolonged time outside in the snow. "I'm down to go out and explore, but I'm going to need to search here first for something better suited to it, like Ettie said." She nodded at the others who were as inappropriately dressed as she was. "Same for you guys. You go out there in just socks or shoes that won't keep your feet dry and you're asking to lose some toes."
She patted Ettie's back, a little bit reassuringly and a little bit to reinforce that it had been a good idea to speak up. "I can go back up there and help you look," she told Scotty. "I still don't think it's a good idea to go off alone but I guess it's okay if we split up a little bit if it helps us all get out of here faster."
