"At least we have an idea of what direction she's going if and doesn't get back to us right away," Chase conceded, setting his backpack on one of the chairs to open it and pull a couple things out. He left the hoodie and flashlight for Tobias on one chair, leaving one of his own flashlights and an extra set of batteries on the table along with one of the torches. He contemplating leaving some scrap cloth, but whoever was in the house would probably have better access to spares than they would where they were going. He could leave instructions on how to make torches on the network when they were on their way.
"Okay," he said finally, shifting his bag back onto his shoulders, checking to make sure his hammer was still on his belt and shoving the bag of ammo into his hoodie pocket, opposite of his survival tool. "Are you guys okay with carrying the lights in case I have to shoot?" Not that the gun would do much except deter the things, probably only briefly. Better than nothing.
