"I dunno, the axe is good stuff," Chase pointed out as he disappeared into the last tent, hunting around before coming back empty handed. "Maybe somebody left a note or something. Like...where they're going." He stood, glancing around the camp as he chewed his bottom lip, frowning as if he were forgetting something. It felt eerie being there now, with it dark, particularly after what had transpired the night before. He didn't want to look at the mark on the house, but he found his gaze drifting to it, then away again quickly as he headed for the stairs. "Come on."
If the outside was uncomfortable, inside wasn't much better. The utility room looked mostly the same, but he paused at the doorway leading into the kitchen, taking note of the toppled garbage can as he scanned the rest of the room looking for evidence of what might have caused that to happen. When he stepped in, he saw the phones, exhaling in relief as headed in that direction, then managed a small grin at Tobias when he saw the gas can and two lanterns nearby. Thank god. "You were right. Maybe it wasn't Them, but somebody brought them in."
