Chase glanced around, realizing there were probably more windows than he thought there were and frowning. "There are panels on the game porch, but we'd probably have to pry those off." Which would take too much time.
The question about the tents caused Chase to shake his head. "If the tents are outside still we'd have to break them down. We'd be sitting ducks." He felt his brow furrow a little more. "We should get the gas though, and cooking oil. And I have my gun. It didn't hurt them but it got that one to back off last night. Maybe we could cover the windows here with blankets or something. I mean, wood panels aren't going to keep anything out if it wants to get in either, but it would help if whatever's outside couldn't see right where we are inside. And if the tents count enough as enclosed spaces or whatever, maybe the blankets work that way too, I dunno. But with the torches maybe that would be enough to keep them away. Plus if it's just blankets then we can use the windows as exits if we need to. We could probably use the blankets that are already here. That's one less thing to have to carry back."
