Tobias nodded and went to work, simply mimicking what Chase had been doing. His hands were shaking a little but he was being useful so that helped the nerves a bit. He would never admit it out loud either but he felt a little safer with Owen there. Like the guy would beat the crap out of the creature if it came down to it. Obviously, Tobias knew that was silly but he clung to the thought anyway.
Owen tried listening for any other sign of a creature nearby but he was met with nothing but silence. “Not sure,” he admitted, glancing back at the two men. “But it sounded like it was closer to the lodge or the barn. That doesn’t mean it’s there. Just that we need to be careful heading that way. I know that’s probably pretty fucking obvious. If the doors and windows are gone here, they might be missing at the lodge too.”
