Felix was still hunting around the room for something he might feel like grabbing, his gaze fluttering between scanning and trying to plot a course on the phone when the noise from the utility room caused him to instinctively crouch again. Instead of plotting a safe course he was instantly mentally calculating the distance to the doorway, then the doorway to the side door, and how long he might have if the creature went after Pam first.
His sigh of relief at seeing Edwin was audible, and weirdly exhausting. He didn't know if increasing their numbers would be better or worse, but just seeing evidence of other people actually physically being there was sure as hell helping his nerves, right up until Edwin opened his mouth.
"Holy shit, it did follow me," he laughed, but not in any way that could be misconstrued as amused, until he saw what Edwin was holding, distracting him from the actual question the man had posed. "Is that a fucking sword?"
