"Okay, yeah, I was thinking that too. About the tents, I mean. Like, they turned off the lanterns, so, it's probably the same," Pam rattled off, nodding, though her attention seemed fixed to the lodge now. Maybe she could spot movement inside from here? But she couldn't, and it seemed silly to keep standing there and wasting time while the coast seemed clear.
"But that all sounds like a good plan. So... yes. Thank you! I think this... will... be fine?" She didn't seem entirely sure, and even though Felix wasn't used to being comforted, Pam felt like she could use some and afford to try to give some, and so she reached out and took Felix's hand, figuring that maybe the feeling of connection would make them both feel a little more comfortable as they approached the dark building. "Just, like, stay next to me until we get upstairs, I guess?" she suggested as she started moving. "God, I hope other people are in there, I don't even want to think about what's happening if they're not. Should I be talking about this right now? I'm so sorry."
