Scotty really liked this new feature that their captors had put on their computers. It was dumb, and he knew it, because giving them a treat was probably making them complacent. It wasn't the answers that he had been hoping for yesterday, that might give them a clue what was happening. But it at least gave them a chance to get things that they otherwise wouldn't see again. Like McDonalds fries, and Buffalo Wild Wings, and those protein bars that he really liked. The kitchen had already given them plenty of options, but Scotty really only knew how to cook like a college student. Now he could order German food and Chinese food and just food. It was cool, and if anyone messed it up he was going to have to seriously consider punching them in their stupid face.
So Scotty had binged a little bit that morning, testing their new toy. And by the afternoon, he decided that he really needed to work out to make up for it. He threw a note up on the network, announcing that he was heading towards town, if anyone else wanted to go. They had those nice jackets now, at least, and a second pair of shoes, and that road was still clear from snow. It seemed like a good time to head down to town and explore some more, just to see if anything had changed. He wasn't expecting anything, of course, but it would be good to have a better idea of their temporary home. And exercise was good. And maybe that obstacle course was still down there.
"This town is creepy," he announce to his companion as they made it past a few houses. "You think people actually lives here once, or this is all Hollywood bullshit?"
