Tobias's heart was already beating hard, but it seemed to skip in his chest when he realized Scotty was talking about Simms. His hands were sweaty again and he tried to ignore the paintball that exploded on his knee. He was never going to win at this point. Starting out in the red was always a bad idea. But he was afraid of Scotty getting too close and shooting him in the head or face... or taking his key.
Knowing he needed more leverage, Tobias forced himself to sit up a little, keeping his knees drawn up to try and avoid getting hit in the chest. If he got paralyzed, he was screwed big time. Trying to breathe evenly, he took advantage of Scotty ducking behind another tree to try and settle his paintball gun on his knee, using it to aim a bit more steadily at where he knew Scotty would be. "I think They're lying to you. That's why They do," Tobias shouted, unable to help it now. The fear was mixed with adrenaline. Anger that he had been voted highest body count and this stupid jail thing and that he had to kill someone to keep them from killing his friends and no one seemed to understand how it had fucked him up in the head. "Stop hiding. If you want to shoot me, stop being a coward and come out here and shoot me." His finger twitched on the trigger. He'd fire at the first sight of Scotty. He didn't care at this point. If he was going down, he was going down swinging! Or... firing, in this case.
