Felix stared down at the building in the canyon, as if he could gauge where the lanterns were by looking at it, only to set his mug and his pack down on the ground and pull out his phone to snap a few pictures to show whoever else wanted to see this shit.
"Maybe they had some weird Crystal Lake boat tour, or something," he offered, turning to snap a couple shots of where they'd erupted from the woods, then the expanse of the canyon in the other direction before turning as if he was going to take a selfie with them also in the background. "Okay, Zenith Cool Kids Club progress posterity shot. Get in here."
His thumb moved as they piled in with him, but fumbled slightly, turning it into a video recording instead hitting the photo button. "Ah shit, uh...okay. Just in case, this is the last will and testament of Felix Vaughn, should I fall to my death on the rickety hellevator of doom. I died as I lived, making questionable life choices and only regretting about ten percent of them, but you can go ahead and assume that includes whatever it is that gets me killed unless it turns out it was really, really cool. Pam gets Shark, because she's the only person who I know for sure won't eat her. If we don't die together, Marco gets my dinosaur collection because technically it was his anyway. Lennon gets first dibs on my room because he needs to finish that mural as some kind of kickass momento mori. If he doesn't want the setup, I pre-posthumously demand a battle to first blood for anyone who does want it. Or draw names out of a hat, I don't think ghost me will give a shit. To whom it fucking concerns, you know who you are, I do not consent for my remains to be used for science. My quota is full. If I don't die, future me, stop bringing fucking mugs on hiking expeditions. You drink the coffee within the first twenty minutes, then you're stuck with the fucking thing the whole rest of the time. You're a fucking mess. It's a good thing you're cute." He glanced back to the others over the rims of his shades. "You guys want to say anything?"
