As the trio neared their destination, peering down into the canyon revealed a structure, though it was impossible to tell what it was exactly from the top. From above, it was just clear that there was a building below, made mostly of glass, but also of brick or concrete. A dock reached out from the back of it, stretching out into the lake it shared the canyon with.
There was no clear path down into the canyon, but they weren't left having to try to figure out how to climb down. There was something provided to lower them down to their destination, and that came in the form of a window washer's suspended platform. At the edge of the cliff fave, a large motor rig had been constructed, making the platform a permanent fixture, though it's permanence was not an indication of it's safety. Built into the side of the platform were buttons for up, down, and emergency stop. The rig takes a second to start up, and when it does start, it does so with a jolt, so that first moment on the platform can be pretty scary, but the rest of the ride down is smooth. There was a design flaw in which there's no way to call the bucket to you if you're not on the side where the bucket is waiting. It would not be wise to send the platform down without a person in it, as you would have to climb the support ropes down to get the platform back.
