Who: Chase and Lennon Where: the front porch When: 11:15ish
Lennon was happy enough to be doing something relaxing today. He was still sore from his amazing walk to the river and then all over freaking creation two days ago, although he felt better than he had the day before. All he'd done yesterday had been to write his post about the strangest thing he'd seen pre-Zenith, answer comments, read his Stephen King book and sleep, only leaving his bed to use the bathroom and get food a couple of times. Finally he felt decent enough to socialize, and it seemed like it had been a long time since he'd talked to and hung out with just Chase, so why not today?
After messaging with his friend, he'd showered and dressed, picked up his phone and gone down to the kitchen to come up with some kind of lunch for them. If there'd been mayo or even mustard he would have considered chicken sandwiches, but there hadn't been-- and he'd definitely thought fondly of the chicken salad his mom used to make, the kind with lots of mayo, grapes and nuts-- so drumsticks and wings it was along with some bread and butter and a few handfuls of the trail mix for dessert. Water to drink as per usual. He knew water was good for them but damn, he wanted some more soda. His Mello Yello hadn't lasted long at all, and he'd shared some of it with Felix to boot. Not that he'd begrudged it, but he was really getting tired of watered-down coffee for his daily caffeine fix.
Lennon got their lunch placed on the low table intended for chess and board games and sat down with a sigh, glancing at the boarded up windows. It'd be nice if at least some of them could let some light in during the day, but if he took some of the boards down he'd feel like he should put them back up, because at night? Yeah, it just felt safer to have some kind of barricade between them and the great outdoors.
