Who: Kiley, Lennon, Tobias & Chase Where: Lennon and Tobias's room When: Dinner tiiiiiime
Chase wasn't really sure he appreciated that the post-kidnap group hangout was turning into a tradition. The last bit was fine, but he could sure as heck do without the first. He really didn't know what was worse, being the one that disappeared or the one that had to go out and find the others, having been on both ends of it enough to feel like he could say he was almost an expert on either. Kiley was too, he realized, and hated it even more. Not really the couple's bonding experience he'd ever ask for.
Seeing Kiley and Lennon again had, of course, been a huge relief, but he realized that during the whole ordeal he hadn't been as high strung as the first time. Maybe it had to do with the fact that he'd known Kiley was out there somewhere, and they had a marker to find her, and even if it wasn't him, someone would be there for her. It was the idea that maybe he was just more used to it, even if that wasn't entirely the case, that bothered him.
Things had turned out. That was what mattered. Everyone was safe back at the house by now, or wherever they normally ended up. It was okay. No bodies, no monsters, no nightfall.
It had been pretty uneventful once they were all back and safe, at least as far as Chase was concerned. He and Kiley had been so worn out that they'd taken a shower together then practically fallen into bed for a nap. When they'd woken up he'd send the pictures Oliver had taken on his phone to Oliver's, then peered at the actual pictures themselves with Kiley. After, he'd lumbered over to Tobias and Lennon's room to ask if they wanted to grab dinner and hang out for a bit so they could regroup and actually update each other on everything that had happened.
It was nice having some new things to toss onto a plate, even leftovers from the day before. He was actually glad for that, considering that meant Jack wasn't cooking the same day he'd been kidnapped. Chase piled his plate with some stuffing, a piece of fish, a couple chicken wings, a pile of potatoes and managed to sneak in a spoonful of cooked spinach before nuking the entire thing. Before heading up the stairs he tried to beguile a sleepy Minion with the promise of a couple tidbits, but aside from accepting a few ear scratches he seemed content to soak up the remaining rays of the sun on the cat tower by the window.
"Wow," Chase said immediately once he entered the bedroom, immediately moving towards the nearest bit of new art to scope it out. "This looks great. Are you guys gonna try to do the whole room?"
