"I feel like....maybe we should leave some of the cord up there. Just in case someone gets trapped up there and something happens to the ladder," Chase frowned as he looked up the length of the tower, then shook his head. "I don't know if it's long enough to really be useful though. And I'd feel weird about leaving supplies just in case we need them back at the house. It's probably fine. I don't even know if it would work even if it was long enough."
As soon as Oliver pulled himself over the edge of the ladder, the first thing he wanted to do was sit down. It was a dangerous thought for all of the reasons why he hadn't wanted to climb down yet, but he did give himself a minute to lean in the doorway of the small room to get a look at what was in there. No monsters, that was evident enough at first glance, and despite having the phone now he shouted down. "All clear!!" Even at the distance there was probably no way to mishear that.
His eyes fell on good ol' Smokey first, and he couldn't help the tired, slightly fond, nostalgic laugh that escaped him. "Long time no see, big guy." With a grunt he pushed off the door frame and stepped into the room, listening for any extensive telltale creaks or cracking sounds that might indicate the floor was less than safe to walk on. So far so good. Already he was eyeballing things he'd want to take back down, so he shrugged off the pack, and left it on the floor by the door, taking the phone with him so he could message Edwin while he hunted around.
