It was sweet that they were already wanting to be together after all of this. Maybe for them, talking about the future and making plans was a way to stay sane. Not everyone had to be as pessimistic as Kiley was about their situation. She opened the nail polish again to begin on his second coat.
“I think that sounds great, the two of you staying together after this. If you guys end up getting married, I better get an invite.” Kiley flashed him a quick grin. “As for me and Chase, we haven’t really talked about that kind of stuff. Not in depth, or anything. I think if we get out of here, one of us will move to be with the other. He’s from New York and I’m from Chicago... I don’t think either of us have any solid ties to where we were. I can’t imagine not being with him though. So we’ll work something out. It’s weird to think we may wake up one day and not see anyone here again. I mean, people we’ve gotten used to.”
