Kiley could understand Edwin doing whatever he had to do to avoid being picked on. High school was basically about survival after all, especially for kids who didn't "fit the norm". Ridiculous and shitty, but true. Her lips quirked into a faint smile as she started on his thumb. Being a person was hard. When she finished the stroke of the polish on the nail she straightened and motioned to his hand. "I can do a second coat when that dries if you want it." Kiley capped the nail polish before answering his question.
"High school Kiley was a pain in the ass. So maybe I haven't changed much." She shrugged once. "I had a couple of friends, a handful of boyfriends and I'm honestly not sure how I graduated. Teachers didn't like me. Apparently I was mouthy. Can you believe that?"
