"North," Oliver replied, though he figured that wouldn't mean all that much to OWen. He glanced back at the house, knowing it would probably be better to have this conversation while they were sitting down somewhere, but all of the public spaces were likely to be crowded at this time of the day, and he didn't really want to talk about what had happened in a room full of people.
"It came along with a whole ordeal. We've had warnings not to go out when it got dark, and we'd all been stickin' to it, but then Jerome and Vanessa went missing. We saw their markers on the GPS. They were too far from the house to get back before dark, and they weren't moving. A few people volunteered to go out and get them and bring them back in case they were injured. Chase, Ivy and Scotty. They were attacked by...somethin' on their way out. Scotty made it to cover, but Ivy and Chase were taken overnight. Got deposited back with us the next mornin' with marks on 'em. They're not hurt, just shaken up over the whole thing. Next day, the markers were still out there, but....one of them was beyond the barrier, and it moved, but we never figured out who it was. When the group got to the other marker, they found the body. It had been...mutilated. Missin' pieces. Burned. They couldn't make an ID, except that it was male. The group burned the remains. We've got a couple pictures, but it was better to make sure nothin' else could happen with it down the line, like with Hathaway."
