Oliver caught the quick snap of nerves in Scotty's movements, his small smile a little apologetic. "I think better when I'm workin'," he explained as he led the way. "And unless you're a gremlin, a little wet's not gonna hurt you," he teased lightly as the distance between them and the tree lessened.
When they got to it, Oliver didn't immediately reach down to start dragging it out, instead resting his hands on one of the upright branches and leaned a little, feeling that the wood would hold the fraction of weight he was putting on it. It was a bit settling as he regarded Scotty, his jaw working as he tried to figure out how to start.
"We....got some news today," he started, wondering if maybe that sounded a little more foreboding than he'd intended. "Some that pertains to you, and I wanted to talk to you about it before it started gettin' around. Nothin'..." he wanted to say that it wouldn't be bad, because for Scotty it likely wouldn't be, but for others it likely would be. "You saw the message earlier? The one from that Zippy thing, and then Pam and goin' out with some people?"
