"Better than I was," Oliver promised a little wearily. He shifted slightly to set his water glass on the floor by his foot as he saw the poor state his boyfriend was in. It warmed him as much as it ached. Edwin never would have allowed himself out of the room in such a state if he wasn't worried, and Oliver had such an overwhelming need to fix something for him, to have control over something in that moment. He reached forward with the intent to start adjusting buttons, but rather than getting immediately to work, he gripped the lapels leaning in for a kiss. The tension in his gut settling into something a little more stable as he inhaled the scent of Edwin and rain, focusing on that for a few seconds. "Didn't mean for you to get all wet..."
"I'm gonna...." Jack called quietly, gesturing towards the kitchen door even as he backed towards it, happy to give the trio space now that things seemed more sorted. If anything was going to help him wrap his own brain around what was going on it was going to be either cooking or drinking, and he had plenty of the former to look forward to.
