"I don't think the fish are particularly thrilled with anybody. But, you know, that's probably why there were so many fish in the river! So we could catch a whole bunch of them!" Pam said cheerfully, despite still feeling weird about having fished. It wasn't like she didn't enjoy eating fish, or meat, it just felt weird to be catching something that she would later eat. "In my group, Lucy decided to make, like, a dam? With rocks and stuff? And we wrangled fish that way, but like, it's still not as many as you guys did! That was crazy!"
She let out a little Ooh! at each of the foods that they listed off, wondering already if she could sneak a spoonful of mint chocolate chip once it was in the freezer. "Well I literally just said I got a few things, but I didn't say what they were, so that's okay," she told Chase. "I ordered a shepherd's pie, and some tiramisu, and a thing of oreos, because those will last like forever. So, like, mostly sweets, because we've been lacking!" And Jerome wasn't around making cakes anymore. But that was something that she didn't want to think about.
"So, do you think we'll start getting more opportunities to get more food after this?" she wondered, mostly just to make conversation. "Like, I'm not getting my hopes up or anything, but the fish only just got here, and now we have fish and chicken, and I feel like maybe it might just be a thing now, or whatever."
