Swindling an idiot was the only part of the long story she needed to hear. Lila was more interested in what Felix had to tell her. She listened passively, not terribly surprised by Simms's behavior. Those people had locked him up in a jail cell and essentially left him to rot. Granted, he didn't know when to shut his mouth and stop antagonizing either. It sounded brutal and she honestly hadn't though Simms had it in him to do any of that. But she hadn't known him that well, despite the time they spent together. It was going to have to come to a head eventually, and maybe some of the people in this place deserved it.
Lila brushed a stray strand of hair back from her face before looking around the mess that was Felix's room. "I guess I can say he was in and out of consciousness a lot. Holed up in some remote location. Drugged up on pain meds. Some of the others who returned had stories about what had happened to them when they were taken out. The old man they had put in some house somewhere to recover from whatever sickness he had. Didn't he say he had an IV? The other two women who came back had stories too..." She couldn't remember their names. Lila picked absently at one fingernail. "Where did Simms get stabbed by Tobias?"
