Felix had to admit, he'd been a little disappointed when he woke up to the exact same room he'd fallen asleep in. He wondered if maybe it would have been different if he'd decided to sleep on the couch in the main house for the second night in a row, but considering that had been uncomfortable as hell, and he's spent the day out in the great outdoors, catching fucking fish, his body had demanded an actual bed.
The night before he'd spent trying to decide if he wanted to integrate his anti-monster outfit into clothing to make it seem less odd, or shove it into his floor cubby in case someone ever saw him sneaking around and recognized it as part of his wardrobe. In the end he chose the latter for the pants, and the former for the hooded jacket, considering he'd sacrificed his warm hoodie to the multilated corpse gods. At least this way he'd have some plausible deniability in that he didn't actually own a black outfit if anyone saw him. Maybe that would be enough. Then he hunted around for a place to hide Jerome's wedding ring, and decided on the dated ceiling light fixture, feeling like the weird brass nipple thing on the glass dome was just about the right size to hide the shape of the ring inside. The problem was, even standing on his dresser he couldn't reach it. The height settled his worry that he'd be kissing the ceiling with the loft bed, but it sure as hell was a pain in the ass right now.
In the end he'd decided he'd wait until morning, feeling like it would be easier to deal with once the loft bed was in there, instead hiding the ring in the package of unused bedding in his closet, where it remained even as he dressed to go get Lila. Fucking Lila. Why couldn't it have been Mads? Or Daph? Though, he supposed the former would have set the whole forest on fire by now, and the latter probably would have been more than miserable to deal with in their new less-than-posh digs, so he supposed maybe Lila was the better choice of the three.
He moved quickly from the mill towards the house, slowing a bit as he neared the lodge to not seem suspicious to anyone who might have been out and about and glancing at the windows, heading to the barn. He didn't speak, gesturing with his head for her to follow him back out when he spotted her, his eyes moving towards the second floor, as if he could keep that door closed by will alone. Sure, it wouldn't be awful if someone saw them, but even though he and Lila hadn't entirely meshed well while she'd been there before, she was still ExB. Giving her a chance to get updated and figure out how she wanted to play this situation was probably beneficial for all of them.
