"Points for optimism," Felix told Lennon as he took the pole from Tobias with his free hand, almost offering to trade for the bunny until he saw the blond's lack of enthusiasm. "Thanks."
He backed up a step towards the corner of the building, shrugging a shoulder at Kiley. "Or maybe his contrition is based around The One rules, and every fish we catch and kill named Douglas gives him more power. By the time we're done he could be cured. Or have double ball cancer if all the fish have it too. Those are the kinds of risks you have to take for stick figure medical advancement."
"I have no idea what's going on," Chase announced with a short laugh, trying not to sound mildly jealous in a weird way considering stick figures had always seemed to be a him and Kiley thing, but momentarily distracted enough by the bunny to let it slide for now. Felix stopped his backwards motion the instant he seemed to realize Chase was heading for him, letting the guy gently scratch the bunny behind one floppy ear. "Did you make her harness thing?"
“Yeah, it's almost done. Figured I'd work on it between fish," Felix replied, moving again once it seemed like Chase was finished greeting Shark.
