Who: Marco and Lucy When: After the meeting Where: Their bedroom.
Lucy hadn’t been feeling the greatest prior to the meeting-- worried about Jerome and Vanessa. She and Vanessa had been fighting a lot lately, and Lucy found herself growing more and more annoyed with the girl’s antics, but didn’t wish anything bad on her. With the news of the dead body, the dead body that was more than likely Jerome, she couldn’t shake the feeling of responsibility that she had had. She had been the one who had been investigating the monsters. She had been the one who had been recording them, she had been the one to go into the woods looking for them. Had she drawn their attention too much? Would they have left them alone if she hadn’t bothered?
After the meeting, Lucy quietly slunk back to their room after telling Marco she’d be happy to help him with his numbers. She didn’t know exactly what they would be doing with them, but a distraction would be nice. She fiddled with the wooden block that Oliver had made to help keep the window closed-- it had popped out again while they were out of the room. She stood on her bed and did her best to jam it into the window pane so that it wouldn’t come out again, but it made her realize how glad she was that she had taken the bed under the window. It meant that if the Monsters could reach through the open window, they would at least mess with her and not Marco, given that this was her fault.
“How many numbers do we have anyway?” She asked Marco, still looking at the window for a moment as she waited to see if the wood would pop out again. Satisfied that it was secure, she moved to sit on her bed and look over at her roommate.
