While the others spoke, Ivy was sitting there stunned that a body had been found. She knew this whole experience was surreal, and she knew Scotty's dad had died, but those circumstances had felt different to her. They had no idea who this body was, or how they had died, only that it was unrecognizable. Had those monsters been responsible? Maybe she and Chase had been lucky. Could that have happened to them? Her chest felt tight but Ivy focused on breathing, her hands fisted against her thighs. Thankfully some of the others looked as horrified as she felt, but the worst of it was that they really had no clue what to do at this point. They had limited supplies, and yes, there were fish in the river, but what else was out there?
For his part, Levi stood near the stairs, his own arms crossed as he listened. He didn't show much emotion regarding the dead body but for a raise of his brow. Damn. He had missed out. Maybe next time he would volunteer for the next search party. He had no idea who died, and if it was Jerome, so what? He didn't know the guy, and his death didn't affect him in any shape or form. But hell, he was willing to listen even though he doubted this group would say anything productive. Bickering would be kind of fun to witness, but he wasn't getting his hopes up.
