While Lennon and Edwin were gathering what people had dropped the night before, Felix was eyeballing the GPS over the rim of the only pair of sunglasses he'd "packed", hoping like hell they didn't end up lost on the forest floor by the end of the day. In his other hand, in lieu of a travel mug, was the actual mug that had one contained his coffee, the last dregs of it swishing at the bottom as he waved his hand moved while he spoke, the unlit cigarette bobbing from the side of his mouth. "Yeah, barrier's not for a bit still, according to this. Fuck everything else, but you gotta give Them props for the easy user interface on this thing when it's actually working. Don't know if that one dot outside of the barrier is a glitch or not, but it's still there."
He wasn't really all that surprised when Lennon had wandered back down not long after Kiley had left the kitchen, her own icy demeanor making it less than pleasant in the few minutes he himself had interacted with her. He wasn't all that bothered though. She'd get over it in a few days, probably.
Jack was scouting ahead of the rest of the group by a few feet, not moving out of sight or earshot, then wandering back after thirty seconds or so, like a loyal retriever unwilling to leave their owner behind. He had his backpack slung over one shoulder, holding a first aid kit and his and all the water and whatnot people hadn't wanted to carry, knowing that he was probably best suited as the pack mule instead of actually coming up with any sort of plan. He was starting to think that maybe he needed to do a different workout in the mornings, though. He could feel the burn in his calves from walking on uneven terrain, but he knew he'd make it there and back with no problem. "Could somebody actually be out there? Did anyone actually check these barriers yet?"
