Lennon and Marco, around 1PM
Marco snorted, then squinted at Lennon, failing to suppress a smile. “Wait. You’re not a doctor?” he joked. It was nice to be able to hang out with Lennon for a little bit, even if it had been taken up by Marco’s health quiz. “Wait, actually, I do have one more question,” he added in quickly. “This wasn’t… This wasn’t too weird, right? I just… I guess that, um… Maybe some people found it intrusive. I didn’t want that.” He really didn’t mean to make anyone uncomfortable, but it was on his mind after his encounter with Kiley, even if that had ended okay. It was more important with Lennon, though. Lennon was still really important to him. Hell, if he knew that Lennon wanted to hug him, but didn’t because of his weird touch thing, he’d feel bad about it. He just wanted to make sure that he’d still keep Lennon as a friend.
“Not a doctor,” Lennon confirmed. “I’d probably still be in school somewhere if I was.” Or he would’ve been abducted from med school instead of a random club. Anyway. His brow furrowed. “It wasn’t too weird to me,” he said. Of course, Marco was his friend so he’d automatically be more tolerant of shenanigans than he might have been with some people. “I think you’re fine. If someone doesn’t want to answer, they can just say no.”
“You’d probably be in school for a few more years still, yeah,” Marco agreed, smirking. It just seemed stupid hard to become a doctor. He nodded when Lennon tried to put him at ease, though he wondered if maybe he hadn’t given people the option to say no. He wondered how many people had lied just to get him off their back. He hoped none. He wanted to believe none. “Was there still a k-cup in there?” he asked, nodding to Lennon’s mostly untouched coffee. Now that he wasn’t focused on his task, the presence of coffee made him realize how much he wanted a little caffeine.
“Yeah,” Lennon said, nodding. “Man, I hate coffee. Just needed the caffeine.” Maybe he’d gotten a little bit in what he’d drank. Maybe he should add that to his list of requests: brownie mix and sodas, to start with. Suddenly all he could think about was a huge icy Mello Yello, and it made him want to throw the cup across the room. But nope, nobody needed the smell of coffee + powdered milk + honey lingering in here. “I’m gonna chug some more of this and then dump the rest. See you later, okay?”
“Well, wait,” Marco said, holding a hand up like that could actually halt him. “Don’t dump it out, put the mug in the microwave. I’ll grab it in a few minutes. I’ll finish it off.” He didn’t know what Lennon had put in it, but it didn’t really matter. Marco would drink it anyway.
His raised hand turned into an awkward little hand wave as he nodded. “Later, dude. Let me know if any of your health shit changes, okay?”
“Oh… yeah, okay.” Lennon was surprised Marco would want it, but he was all for sharing in this case. “I’ll keep you posted. Seeya later.” He waved back and headed for the kitchen, taking a couple more sips and then making a face. Yeah, Marco would have the rest of it for sure.
