Who: Dylan and OPEN (multiple welcome!)
When: Mid-obstacle coursing
Where: Obstacle course, duh
What: Coursing through obstacles
Dylan had had some harsh awakenings in her life, but she was pretty sure none of them beat the goddamn airhorn that felt like it was two inches from her ear. Jolted from a dead sleep, her whole body jerked at the sudden noise and she found herself flipping right off the small wooden bench that seemed to have replaced the big, deliciously comfortable bed that was in her room at the house. It took her a second to realize that it wasn't that her bed had been replaced but that she was somewhere different entirely. It was bewildering, her brain struggling to shed the cobwebs of deep sleep and also regulate her galloping heart, but she wasn't scared - the three people who'd been in the house before had warned them this happened sometimes. They hadn't mentioned the air horn, though, and she thought that was a pretty important oversight.
She was grateful she'd listened to the advice about going to bed with clothes on, even if it meant wearing super uncomfortable clothing to bed, but at least she didn't have to walk out into the locker room butt ass naked. Sure, that kind of thing was part and parcel of a dancer's life - casual nudity, that was, not kidnapping - it felt different to be naked here than in a dressing room at a concert venue or on a video set. She noticed the numbers on the duffel bags, and checked her bracelet - sure enough, one of the bag numbers matched. Thank God in Heaven, she thought to herself when she opened the bag to reveal the workout clothes. She changed immediately, throwing aside any weirdness about the locker room situation in favor of getting into way more comfortable, functional clothes. The outfit she'd worn to the club that night was cute, but definitely not meant for living in the way she had the last few days.
Who was she to say no to a pair of coral and electric purple sneakers, either?
The obstacle course had been wholly unexpected, as were most things here, but not unpleasant. Until they got to the part where you got zapped if you stopped moving. Dylan had shrugged to herself and watched the video to see how it was done before making an attempt herself. The first few obstacles weren't too bad, but now she was at the wall and well, she was hitting a wall. She was in good shape, but she didn't have the best upper-body strength and without footholds, she was struggling to get over even though she could make the jump to grab the top fairly easily. The repeated drops to the ground weren't doing any good for her bad knee, but the faint ache building was still better than the zap that was waiting if she didn't keep trying. Shaking out the burn in her forearms, she gathered herself for another jump.
