Who: Edwin & Dylan Where: Their section of the map, nearing the river When: Before 9
This was not the scenario that Edwin thought that he would be waking up to. He had expected to wake up on the ground, and even had considered that he might wake up in a forest, though he had considered a lot of other scenarios to wake up to as well. He had joked the night before about waking up in some mystical forest, and how important it was that he had his elf costume with him. Then he had buttoned the buttons of his coat into Oliver's, and had curled up against his boyfriend, despite both being in so many layers that they could hardly have the contact that they craved.
That was why he hadn't expected to wake up alone. He knew that fastening their clothes together didn't assure that he would wake up next to Oliver, but he had figured that he'd be there with someone. Anyone, really. He was thankful to find that, behind the new GPS program, that the network was already crowded with people announcing their presence, orchestrated by his missing boyfriend. He was happy just to see that he was around, but he took a few minutes after tugging off a few of the tighter layers to send his man a few private messages, before heading off to lumber through the woods.
Man, he couldn't remember the last time he'd been hiking like this. Some event he'd gone to out of state, probably, but the woods were something that he wasn't used to. And these were dense with trees and brush, to the point that even once he found the river, it took a bit of walking before he could properly get to it's bank without launching himself off some dropoff or hanging out over it on some tree limb. It took him a smidge out of his way if he was heading straight for the designated destination, but it did put him in the path of one of the moving red dots. That could be alright.
So, Edwin turned and walked away from the river, trying to match his path to intersect the other red dot, his unknown housemate, so maybe the rest of the walk wouldn't feel as treacherous as the first half. He wasn't sure who he was expecting, but when he found himself crossing paths with none other than his friend Dylan, he felt very suddenly re-energized, taking long strides to catch up to her.
"Dylan! Dylaaaan!" he called out, making sure he was heard before he caught up to her and pulled her into a tight, gleeful hug. God, was it nice to see a friend in this weird, unknown setting. "Jesus, I wasn't sure when I'd run into someone," he sighed, pulling back from her just enough to give her a look over. "Are you okay? You're... You're okay, right?"
