It was so hard to have so little control over his own life. In its own way that was as bad as the actual fact of being abducted. In the grand scheme of things there were so few people to interact with, and lately it seemed that there were even fewer. Seeing only who they'd been placed with, going only where they were allowed... despite having some great friends in Zenith, there were times when it really chapped his ass to be so limited. There wasn't a hell of a lot he could do about it, so he tried not to think about it too much.
He gave Ivy a rueful smile. "Dangling the bait in front of the fish, the carrot in front of the horse... or whatever. Yeah. It's not like anyone forgets what's up, but it helps a little." He shifted the weight of his pack between his shoulders. "I'm sure there's a barrier like there is in Zenith. You know someone'll try to find where it is, but it's not gonna be me." He'd already learned the futility of that.
