Who: Scotty and Kiley When: Morning Where: The plains
Waking up outside was unpleasant, but not entirely unexpected. She was warm, almost too warm, because of all the damn layers she was wearing, and after checking in on the network she began to strip, folding and rolling up the clothes she took off to shove into the backpack until it was practically bulging. Then she pulled her coat back on and looked around at her surroundings. There were far trees in the distance and her GPS indicated that was the direction she was meant to go. Christ, she wanted a cigarette really badly.
Grumbling to herself, Kiley slipped the backpack on her shoulders and headed off in the right direction. She wouldn't complain about the weather, because it wasn't freezing, nor was it snowing, so if it was a little chilly, that was just fine by her. Still, the walk would have been much more pleasant with her morning nicotine. As long as TPTB weren't dicks, she would have her cigarettes waiting for her wherever she ended up. She probably needed to move quickly though, because the skies were looking ominous to the west. She kept her phone out to follow the GPS, occasionally glancing up to make sure she wasn't about to get poured on.
She didn't really feel like she had been walking all that long before she saw someone else to her right in the distance. It took her another moment to see it was Scotty. Because of course it was. He looked to be alone too. They were walking in the same direction, so it wasn't like she could hide from him. Not that she had any desire to do that. But of all the people to run into this morning, when it could have been anyone else... okay, yes, it could have been worse, it could have been Vanessa.
Kiley nearly called out but decided to follow Scotty in silence until he noticed her. That probably wouldn't take terribly long, given she was getting closer to him with every step, even with the heavy backpack on her shoulders. Edwin really did owe her one. She wished she could speak another language just so she could pretend not to understand him if he spoke to her. Fucking around with people might be the only entertaining thing she got to do today and Kiley rarely liked to let an opportunity pass her by.
