Edwin was very quickly shaking his head, though when he spoke, it wasn't with the same energy. He stayed calm and firm, not wanting to give her the impression that he was rattled, like she had discovered his secret thoughts about her. It wasn't really that at all, though he did think she was trying a little too hard to make up for her original problem with him by being really agreeable up until now. "No, I didn't say I think you're dumb, I said you're reading the wrong things. I get it, I hated a lot of the books they made us read in school. There's great books out there on all those things you like, both fiction and non-fiction! If you like makeup, there are a bunch of makeup books out there, it's a huge industry. Oh, if I had my own books here, I'd lend you my Kevyn Aucoin books. His works are... He was incredible," he ranted, quickly stopping himself from using a bunch of works that he had a feeling she didn't know the translations to. "And now I've talked a ton, so don't even worry about it."
He smiled back at Vanessa when she brought the water, then tapped to the opening of the reservoir. "Great! So you're just going to pour the water in here, and if you've got too much, you can just dump the rest back in the sink." He hummed thoughtfully as he turned to the cabinets, then pulled one open. "So we keep the coffee stuff near the coffee maker, and for this you'll just need one of these filters," he pulled one out as he mentioned it, passing it over to Vanessa, "and then the coffee grounds. The filter goes right in here." He showed her where to place the filter on the machine.
